Cumquat MDM: Mobile Device Management System

Cumquat MDM, developed under the OMA DM protocol (V1.1.2), is designed to  provide individuals, families and enterprises with centralized management, protection and configuration of diverse mobile devices (smartphones/tablets) on various operating systems (such as Android, iOS, Windows Phone7, etc.) as well as mobile data and applications on these devices.

Policy Enforcement: Manages and controls the use of mobile devices and applications in a standard manner according to preset policies for these devices and applications, including:

Compulsory policies for mobile devices:

  • Detecting OS platform and its version, installed applications and operational data;
  • Detecting jailbreaking;
  • Filtering insecure access request to enterprise data.

Compulsory policies for applications:

  • Setting limits on downloadable applications via black and white lists;
  • Monitoring access to application stores and downloading of applications. If any prohibited application is found, such access will be disconnected immediately and a warning message stating that a policy violation has been detected will be sent to IT administrators and operators.

Compulsory policies for communication fee:

  • Monitoring network traffic on a real-time basis;
  • Monitoring web browser-based access and call history. In case of any violation of any policy (e.g., restricted site access or international roaming), such access will be forbidden immedaitely and a warning message stating a policy violation has been detected will be sent to IT administrators and operators.

Management model policy:

  • Role-based management model;
  • Group-based management model.

Security and Compliance: Provides a complete security system to protect enterprise-wide mobile devices, mobile data and applications on such devices, and backend data.

  • User identity verification: Multi identity verification by username, password, device ID, MAC address, IMSI number and IMEI number;
  • Strong password policy for devices;
  • Local data encryption (in either handset memory and external memory cards)
  • Automatic device lock to prevent unauthorized operations;
  • Remote device control to protect devices and data on them through password reset, device lock, warning, selective remote wipe (e.g., only enterprise content) and total remote wipe (hard wipe, data not recoverable after deletion), etc., when devices are lost/stolen;
  • Notifications on change of SIM card and memory card supporting automatic device lock and warning sent to IT administrator when the SIM card or memory  card is removed or replaced;
  • Monitoring mobile devices and data operations on such devices; and
  • SMS bomber allowing for complete removal of data on devices upon receipt of the administrator’s bombing SMS.

Inventory Management: Controls and tracks applications and data on devices that are connected to enterprises’ infrastructures.

  • Asset management and stock;
